This multi-faceted question is near impossible to answer.
Why? Because the definition of EDC gear is different for everyone. And depending on the situations you encounter daily, your setup is going to be much different than the next person.
Let's touch on a few points to better understand the original question. The first is... What is EDC gear?
In recent years it has been defined a small pocketable and concealable items. However, these are only a very small part of the equation. Technically speaking it is items you carry with you every day. But there are exceptions of course. Depending on where you are going or what you are doing, those items are going to change.
Which is why we typically refer to most of our items as "pocket tools". One might not carry a Poppa Rex bottle opener with them if they are going to work. But if they are hitting the lake to fish, swim, or just relax and have a cold one, well then they might.
A few things are for certain. Most people would agree that your choice of concealable gun and pocket knife, are 2 fundamental EDC items.
Flashlights and med kits often come to mind, your wallet and personal items inside of it and so on.
Realistically... No one should take life too seriously. And if someone tells you your EDC items are not actually EDC items, well, tell them to mind their own business and keep doing what makes you happy.
